When I read Joe Weinmans prediction for 2011, I felt troubled. I seems to take too much of the cellular companies claims at face value. Om Malik, one the other hand, take a more critical view at the same claims.

While on the whole, a more frugal approach to cellular connected devices operating systems, applications and content delivery is a good idea, the same holds true for the wired connection. I would seem that as the Google and Verizon so called net neutrality initiative failed, the carrier in the US have failed back to capacity limitations argument.

תגובות הן נושא רגיש אצל בלוגרים. אין מוסכמות של מה הצורך או הצורה לתגובות. די להביט בעמודי החדשות לראות כמה קל להדרדר ברמת הדיון. כאשר הכותב הוא דעתן ושחצן, כמו ג'ון גרובר, אין כמעט ספק שרמת הלהט תהיה גבוהה. זאת בעיקר שבעוד שאבחנותיו חדות וכתיבתו חריפה, הטעויות שהוא עושה מדי פעם מדהימות לא פחות.

When I discussed my predictions for IT next year, I gave one example from Novell. Being without much work, I have had too much free time on my hands, so I have taken to donwloading podcast for my time in the gym. In this I have come across twit. It's not new (in Internet time). It's been around since 2005, and has been started by Leo Laporte, from ZDTV (circa 1998). So this is a project started by so-called old media people.
