In retrospect

• This year: My employer went bankrupt.
• Ten years ago today: Waiting for the second full backup to complete in the shadow of Y2K
• Twenty years ago: Arriving at the realization that academic life is probably not for me
• Thirty years ago: Watching my fathers cancer taking him over

Overall, decade years have not been good.... But if you take two years off:

• Got a great job with great people
• My son was born
• Discharged from the army
• Peace with Egypt.

So all in all, I'm OK, It's the universe that's out of sync!
